Queensland Swell Switched On Yesterday

The swell on Wednesday 12 April was the result of Tropical Cyclone Cook. It formed north of New Caledonia and tracked SSW early in the week and crossed New Caledonia on Tuesday before rapidly weakening and tracking away to the SE on Wednesday. It was a one-day wonder because the fetch that produced the swell only set up for a short timeframe.

It resulted in 2 to 4ft across the region later on Wednesday. A new round of SSE swell was also in the mix from Wednesday and will move through to Sunday, that will show a peak size of 3 to 4ft across Northern NSW. It will also combine with a new, small to mid-sized E groundswell filling in over the Eastern long weekend.
